The Challenge

Akshat didn’t attend regular college. He chose to pursue Chartered Accountancy full time and his degree via distance learning. He hardly had any extra-curricular participation or won any academic awards. He was just a CA and he had worked with hardly any big brands.

He had made several career transitions from accountancy to a real estate fund to venture debt to a family business of mutual fund distribution.

The Solution

We dove deep into Akshat’s story. We identified several hidden stories that highlighted values that defined him as a person: resilience, people first leadership, initiative and tough decisions. He had demonstrated a strong passion for finance.

He wanted to build a career in private equity but was unsure of the goals he wanted to write. We helped him connect the dots. He showcased tough decisions he made and calculated career switches to gain the skills to help him succeed in his career.

We pitched his story to one of alternate investments and making them available to the masses through his family business. We advised him to do some work in this space for while to show evidence of his story. We helped him select schools which were strong in entrepreneurship and finance. He wanted a tier 1 brand.

Admitted to London Business School.
